Public Agendas & Citizen Engagement Survey (PACES)

OVERVIEW:

The 2008 version of the Public Agendas and Citizen Engagement Survey (PACES) began on September 2, 2008. PACES is an ongoing study - a survey was conducted in 2004 before the Presidential election, and again in 2006 before the Congressional election. The results of the 2008 survey will be published by the Cambridge Press in the latter half of 2009. The result will allow scholars and the public at large to understand the concerns and issue agendas of Americans, and how Americans "expressed" those concerns and agendas.

The Principal Investigator for the 2008 PACES is J. Merrill Shanks, Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. His collaborators are Henry Brady, Professor of Political Science as well as Director of the Survey Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley; Professor Edward Carmines, at Indiana University; and Dr. Douglas Strand, the PACES Project Director.
